Hospitals for Humanity is a healthcare nonprofit saving children’s lives through medical outreach programs around the world, with a focus on Africa. When they approached us, their website was outdated, hard to use, and slowing down their mission.

This was a project close to our hearts, so we volunteered to redesign their entire online presence, ensuring their site reflected the compassion, professionalism, and hope their work brings.

The Challenge

The old website was holding them back:

• Slow & Outdated: Site performance was poor, and the design felt dated.
• Confusing Navigation: Donors and volunteers couldn’t easily find key info.
• Hard to Update: Their internal team struggled to make edits without breaking the site.
• Lack of Visual Appeal: Needed modern branding that inspired trust and action.
• Weak Donation Journey: The path to donate was buried, resulting in lost opportunities.

Our Approach

Human-Centered Redesign

We focused on clarity, emotional connection, and usability:

• Created a clean, full-width layout with lots of white space.
• Streamlined navigation with a sticky menu so visitors could find what they need fast.
• Designed bold, visually distinct CTAs, like “Donate Now” and “Get Involved.”
• Incorporated custom icons, program illustrations, and mission-driven imagery to connect emotionally.

Accessibility & Inclusivity

We ensured the new site met modern accessibility standards:

• High-contrast text and backgrounds for easy readability.
• Logical tab order and ARIA labels for screen readers.
• Simple typography and clear content hierarchy to aid comprehension.

Performance & SEO Optimization

We completely rebuilt the site for speed and search:

• Lightweight, mobile-first build with optimized images.
• On-page SEO and schema markup for better search visibility.
• Improved site structure for easier crawling and indexing.

Empowering the Internal Team

We implemented a no-code content management system (CMS) so their staff can:

• Add and edit content without touching code.
• Publish new blog posts and updates easily.
• Manage media and program information with drag-and-drop simplicity.
